BIO

Sean McGee, a native of Sandusky Ohio, found his love of music within his grandmother, Georgia Robinson, who inspired him with the sounds of The Temptations, Smokey Robinson and Al Green. After his grandmother’s passing, Sean faced a number of trials and tribulations within his family that ultimately led to dropping out of high school and becoming homeless. Music became his only outlet and songwriting was his escape. Little did he know that his undeniable talent with a pen combined with his jaw dropping voice would lead him straight to the Wonda Music team.
In 2009, Jerry Wonda signed Sean McGee to Wonda Music as the first recording artist to join the team. Sean began his career with Wonda Music by sort of a perfect accident – a twist of fate. After gaining significant attention with his single “My Story”, a musical account of his struggles, McGee and his team began the search for a recording studio worthy of Sean’s talents. After setting his sights on Platinum Sound Recording Studios, Sean traveled from his hometown in Sandusky, Ohio to New York City, without any knowledge of who owned and operated the studio. After word of Sean’s talent made it’s way around the studio, Jerry decided to investigate further. Undeniable talent made up Jerry’s mind for him and from that point on Sean was a member of Wonda Music.
At 21 years old, Sean has already become somewhat of an Internet celebrity. The inspiring lyrics of “My Story”, prompted a gigantic response that accumulated over 21 million hits on Myspace . "I started to read the messages and people said the song changed their lives…I couldn't believe it," McGee said. "It was never my intention to hit it big, I didn't think people cared."
McGee’s strength & ability to hold on during life’s toughest times is an inspiration to all. Most importantly, he never let his troubles interfere with his love of creating music. His soulful voice and heart felt lyrics will move audiences worldwide.
